鈥 36 months practical training period, plus 6 months for End Point Assessment
Delivery model:
鈥 Work-based training with your employer
鈥 Day release during term time (approximately 1 day a week for 3 years)
鈥 Approximately 5 on-site assessment visits per year
鈥 Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (7 days at college for each, if required)
鈥 Off the job training will count for at least 6 hours a week of an apprentice鈥檚 time at work
Qualifications included:
鈥 Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths
鈥 City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Domestic Heating
鈥 Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Apprenticeship
End Point Assessment:
鈥 Multiple choice test
鈥 Practical planning test
鈥 Practical, integrated assessment including CC1 and CENWAT
鈥 Professional discussion, based on a log-book completed during the end point assessment period
鈥 Health and safety legislation, codes of practice and safe working practices
鈥 Selection, planning, installation, testing, commissioning and decommissioning, service, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair techniques on cold water, hot water, central heating, above ground drainage and rainwater systems
鈥 Principles of selection, installation, testing, commissioning, and service and maintenance techniques on domestic downstream natural gas pipework systems and appliances
鈥 Installation and testing techniques for electrical components and control systems on plumbing and domestic heating systems
鈥 Scientific plumbing, domestic heating and mechanical principles
鈥 Principles of domestic mechanical environmental technology systems
鈥 Principles of fuel combustion, ventilation and fluing arrangements
鈥 Principles of high-quality customer service
鈥 Different communication methods to suit different situations
