Instalment Plans

One of the options for paying your fees is to arrange an Instalment Plan with the College through our Finance Department. Instalment payment plans are available for fees of £300 or more.

Advanced Learner Loans

If you're aged 19 or over and want to study an Access to Higher Education Diploma or a Level 3 to 6 qualification, you’ll usually need to pay course fees.

To help with the cost, you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan from the Student Loans Company. It’s funded by the government, easy to apply for, doesn’t depend on your household income, and doesn’t require a credit check.

Key points about the Advanced Learner Loan:

• You only start repaying once you’ve finished your course and earn over £25,000 a year (£480 a week or £2,083 a month).
• You repay 9% of anything you earn above £25,000.
• Example: If you earn £28,000, you repay around £22.50/���DzԳٳ�.
• If you earn £35,000, it’s about £75/���DzԳٳ�.
• Interest is added based on how much you earn (between RPI and RPI + 3%).
• You can make voluntary repayments at any time.

If you're aged 19 or over and want to study an undergraduate course with us—such as an HNC or HND—you can apply for student finance, which includes:

• Tuition Fee Loans (to cover your course fees)
• Maintenance Loans (to help with living costs)

You can apply up to 9 months after your course starts.

How repayments work:

If you're 16–19 on 31st August 2025, or under 25 with an EHCP, and studying full-time, you may get help with costs if your household has a low income.

What you could get:

• 75% off course items over £100
• Help with travel (if you live 2 miles or more from college)

Who can apply:

You must:

• Study an ESFA funded course at һ��ݹ���
• Be 16–19 on 31 August 2025, or under 25 with an EHCP
• Have a household income under £35,000
• Meet residency rules

Free College Meals

You might also get free meals if your household receives benefits like:

• Income Support
• Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Employment and Support Allowance
• Universal Credit (earnings under £7,400 a year)
• Child Tax Credit (not Working Tax Credit, income under £16,190)
• Other qualifying government benefits

To get free meals, you must apply online and be approved.

If you’re a young parent, the Care to Learn Bursary can help cover the cost of childcare so you can stay in education. You can get help with childcare costs as long as your childcare provider is Ofsted-registered.

Who can apply?

To be eligible, you must:

• Be under 20 years old on the day your course starts.
• Be the main carer for your child and receive Child Benefit for them.
• Meet the residency requirements.

If you’re aged 19 or over on 31st August 2025 and studying a Level 2 or below course funded by the government (AEB), you may be able to get help with costs through the Adult Skills Fund Bursary.

What the bursary can help with:

• Equipment
• Uniform
• Travel (if you live 2+ miles from college)*
• Childcare (must be with an Ofsted-registered provider)**
• A contribution towards tuition fees

* Travel support is based on the cheapest travel option.
** Childcare must be provided by a registered provider.

Who can apply:

You must:

• Be 19 or older on 31st August 2025
• Be studying an eligible course at һ��ݹ���
• Have a combined household income under £47,000
• Meet residency rules

If you’re 19 or over on 31st August 2025 and have been approved for an Advanced Learner Loan from the Student Loans Company, you may be able to get extra help with your course costs through the Advanced Learner Loan Bursary.

This bursary is for students on general or technical qualifications at Level 3, 4, 5 or 6 at һ��ݹ���.

What the bursary can help with:

• Childcare (must be with a registered Ofsted provider)
• Equipment
• Travel to college (only for students living 2+ miles away; travel is assessed based on the most cost-effective method)

Who can apply:

You must:

• Be 19 or over on 31st August 2025
• Have an approved Advanced Learner Loan
• Be studying an eligible Level 3 or above course at һ��ݹ���
• Have a household income under £47,000
• Meet the residency requirements

ESOL courses run in September, January, and April and cost around £100–£140. You may be able to study for free if you’re unemployed, on certain benefits, or on a low income.

If you’re 19 or over on 31 August 2025 and have a household income under £47,000, you may be eligible for extra support with:

• Equipment
• Uniform
• Travel* (if you live 2+ miles from campus)
• Childcare (must be with a registered Ofsted provider)
• A contribution towards tuition fees

To qualify, you must be studying a Level 2 or below ASF course and meet UK residency requirements.
