Online鈥 how to work in end of life care鈥 the support needed to manage pain and discomfort鈥 how dementia impacts on end of life care鈥 the role of the care worker in time of death鈥 the loss and grief process.
This is an online self study course, where you will have access to a tutor virtually and via messaging. This course involves the completion and submission of assignments and you should typically allow 3hrs per week for approximately 12 weeks.
鈥 Unit 01 - Understand how to work in end of life care鈥 Unit 02 - Care planning in end of life care鈥 Unit 03 - Understand how to provide support to manage pain and discomfort鈥 Unit 04 - End of life care and dementia鈥 Unit 05 - Understanding the role of the care worker in time of death鈥 Unit 06 - Understand loss and grief in end of life care.
鈥 Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support鈥 Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care鈥 Level 2 or 3 Certificate for Working in the Health Sector鈥 Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care鈥 Level 3 Certificate in Stroke Care Management
To be eligible for the ASF funding, you must meet the following criteria: - Must be aged 19 or over (if aged between 19-23, you must already have a minimum Full Level 2 or equivalent qualification)- Must not have previously completed the course you are wanting to enrol on or another course where the content is similar- Must not be currently enrolled on any other government funded education programme, either with The Skills Network or any other college/provider- Must have been living in the UK, EU or EEA for the last 3 years- Must live in England
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
