Apprentices at BMW make Great British Women awards list

Three of our Higher Education students, who work for BMW Mini in Oxford and Swindon have been named in the Autocar magazine , featuring in the final top 100 list.

Danielle Binder (left) has just completed the second year of a Foundation Degree in Mechanical Engineering, while Natasha Palmer (right) is about to progress onto the second year of a Higher National Certificate in Operations Engineering. Project areas they have worked on include renewable energy and production maintenance, and both Danielle and Natasha have been involved in BMW鈥檚 鈥楪irls Go Technical鈥 programme.

Harriet Sherriff (middle) has taken a slightly different but no less inspiring path in this industry, studying for the BA in Business, Management and Communications and focusing on such projects as looking at ways of reducing the cost of scrap generated by the body shop in the plant, and also calculating the financial impact of the .



The Managing Director of BMW Manafacturing Ltd (UK), Frank Bachmann, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e really proud of their achievements and for flying the flag of our plants in Oxford and Swindon. I wish them all the very best for the future and hope their success is an inspiration for the other young women seeking a career in the automotive sector.鈥
