Students from across 一起草官网鈥檚 art department are currently showcasing their finest work at the Cornerstone Gallery in Didcot.
Studying Level 2, 3 and 4 courses in communications, art, design and photography, the students were inspired by a recent trip to Amsterdam, taking influence from some of the city鈥檚 most iconic landmarks such as the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House.
The exhibition promises to be a feast for the eyes with an eclectic mix of college projects on display. Puppets, kites, pairs of 鈥榠mpossible shoes鈥, and photographs cataloguing the Amsterdam trip are just some of things visitors can come and enjoy.
Examples of work produced by creative students on the newly formed Foundation Degree in Communication Design, which runs at the Witney campus, are also featuring at Cornerstone. In the first term, students on the course were introduced to modules in Ideas & Communication and Visual Language through a series of projects that required them to utilise a range of idea generation and visual communication skills.
They have now taken these skills and produced an array of creative pieces, including functional 鈥榓idboxes鈥 for children who have been displaced by war or natural disasters that required an element of fun to help restore a sense of childhood to those who would receive them.
鈥淗aving our students鈥 work displayed in public is a fantastic achievement for them and the staff who have worked with them are very proud to see their efforts rewarded,鈥 said Hannah James, Head of Faculty for The Oxfordshire Creative Academy at the College.
鈥淐ornerstone is a superb venue with excellent footfall right in the centre of the community. We are constantly looking for opportunities to get projects like these into galleries and other creative spaces, as it provides invaluable insight into the world of work that these students will soon be entering in to.鈥
Entry to this exhibition is free and will be running until April 2. You can find more details on Cornerstone鈥檚 website:
