We’re proud to share that һ��ݹ��� apprentice Alfie Clewes recently showcased his talents at the prestigious WorldSkills UK Regional Heats in Electrical Installation, held at Dudley College.

Representing both the College and his employer, Lucy Group, Alfie tackled a highly demanding practical assessment designed to test participants on real-world electrical installation scenarios. Despite the pressure and complexity of the task, Alfie demonstrated outstanding technical skill, attention to detail, and professional conduct throughout the competition.

Although he narrowly missed out on a place in the national finals this year, Alfie’s performance stood out - especially considering that he is still in the first year of his apprenticeship. Competing at this level so early in his training is a significant achievement and a testament to his dedication, hard work, and potential in the industry.

Will Gibbs, Construction Skills Project Lead at the College, praised Alfie’s efforts:

“It’s an amazing achievement to even reach this stage of the competition. This is something that will stay with Alfie throughout his entire career. In the College, we always encourage healthy competition and really push our apprentices to step outside their comfort zones and achieve some incredible results.”

WorldSkills competitions provide apprentices and students with a platform to demonstrate their abilities on a national stage and benchmark their progress against the very best in the UK. Alfie’s involvement highlights the quality of training and support offered at һ��ݹ���, as well as the strong partnerships we build with employers like Lucy Group.
